Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) training is crucial in a variety of industries and plays a vital part in the advancement of medical treatments.
One of the key areas of BLS is CPR. This is often a pre-hospital response to a medical emergency, generally occurs outside of a medical environment, and is often met by an untrained and unprepared first-responder.

As demand on the ambulance service has significantly increased in recent years it is now more likely the police or fire service will be the first to respond to any initial distress calls. As a result, potentially life-saving BLS is being delivered by police, fire crews and sometimes even civilians.

The need for more public awareness
This reality calls for much wider public awareness regarding medical emergencies such as sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Cities and countries that have improved public defibrillator availability and achieved interoperability between emergency services boast favourable survival rates over less developed areas, but what do we do when there is no defibrillator at hand?

It is no secret that correct CPR is difficult to perform. The rate of compression, depth of compression and correct recoil have to be properly coordinated to be truly effective. Add this to the fact that CPR is physically exhausting and that high-pressure situations often lead to mistakes and it is clear that more widespread training is required.

Enter Aero Simulation Solutions
Emergency scenarios are notoriously difficult to prepare and train for. Until recently manikins for CPR training have lacked engaging features, relying on the skill of the instructor and the memory retention of the trainee. Aero Simulation Solutions aims to take the guesswork out of BLS and ALS, combining innovative design and cutting-edge technology to provide an accurate intra-performance and post-performance review on training sessions. This ensures training is kept to the highest standard and skill retention on the part of the trainee is optimised.

This new range of manikins is also far more realistic in touch and feel, which helps to effectively simulate real-world scenarios where prompt action is required. The end result is a huge positive for emergency services, workplaces and public institutions where BLS and CPR training are more important than ever.
