Four questions to ask your new first aid supplier

10/10/19

Life is complicated enough without a major supplier letting you down. Whether the quality and presentation of your first aid products is poor, or your supplies consistently fail to be on time or in stock – being left short of consumables can be critical.

You deserve to have a supplier you can rely on, which is why we’ve compiled four essential questions to ask of a new first aid partner.

1. Do you have control over your supply chain?
Is your supplier a large company with the capacity to produce and maintain robust stock levels? What is your supplier’s contingency procedure if things go wrong? Will you always be guaranteed constant product availability? Is it established enough to have contingency procedures in place to ensure constant product availability?

2. How extensive is your product range?
Does your supplier have an extensive and up-to-date product catalogue that will provide all that your company needs – now and in the future?  Aero manufactures its own branded products, which gives us control over research and development and the supply chain. Aero’s product selection is based on years of extensive market research. The quality of our products and services are ensured by our independent certification to ISO 13485.

3. Do you supply quality products?
Finding the right supplier isn’t just about cost. You will need to score bidders based on the weighted awards you assign them – but these scores all come down to the environment in which the products will be used. You’ll need to consider innovation, sustainability, aesthetics and quality, as well as cost.

4. Are you part of a procurement framework?
Procurement in public services is a real headache and it can take weeks or months to research, consult and negotiate with potential suppliers bidding for contracts. That’s why Aero has supplied first aid consumables and training products through easily accessed frameworks to emergency services and councils across the UK since 2009.
